JANUARY
The robot family welcomes a new member: the KR FORTEC industrial robot packs a powerful punch in a small space. Its advantages: high dynamics ensure short cycle times and, thanks to its compact form, it is perfectly suited for tasks such as handling and spot welding. The KR FORTEC accomplishes all of this with high-speed performance at low energy consumption.
Swisslog is showcasing its fully integrated automation and software solutions at LogiMAT 2024 in Stuttgart under the motto ‘The Human Side of Automation’
MARCH
Palletising with Hygienic Oil robots for the food industry: Talleres Ezma specialises in the development, design, construction and installation of complete lines and individual systems in the canning and food industry. A KUKA Hygienic Oil (HO) robot palletises flexible packaging for the food industry.
With ChatGPT, the topic of artificial intelligence has achieved social relevance in a very short time. Research has been ongoing in industry for several years: Where is the potential for the use of AI in mechanical engineering? What specific fields of application are there for the combination of automation and AI? KUKA provides an insight into the current state of play.
APRIL
Major order for KUKA: More than 700 robots for Volkswagen in Spain. In April, it was announced that KUKA and the Wolfsburg-based automotive group Volkswagen had signed a framework agreement for the delivery of more than 700 robots in 2024 and the following two years.
Cobot assistant for medium-sized companies: A Belgian research team wins the KUKA Innovation Award 2024. The team has won the KUKA robotics competition with a particularly user-friendly cobot application for small and medium-sized companies that can be used without programming.
MAY
How can artificial intelligence help advance the UN's sustainability goals? This question will be addressed by renowned experts from business, research and civil society at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva in May. KUKA and Swisslog are supporting this important initiative.
JUNE
KUKA is using the latest technology to support its customers in the transition to more sustainable mobility: KUKA is supplying 23 friction stir welding cells with integrated robots for the production of electric vehicles for an automotive customer. This is the largest single order in this area to date.
JULY
Swisslog France SAS, in partnership with La Réserve des Saveurs, is the recipient of the prestigious ‘Kings of the Supply Chain 2024’ award, presented by Supply Chain Magazine at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris. The award recognises the groundbreaking work of Swisslog and La Réserve des Saveurs in revolutionising warehousing and order preparation processes.
KUKA Austria is providing insights into its dedicated team over the summer – and is entertainingly explaining how customers are fully supported from the initial idea to the final maintenance.
AUGUST
KUKA is focusing on three dimensions when it comes to artificial intelligence: AI in research, AI in products and solutions, and AI in the day-to-day work of KUKA employees worldwide. At the first ‘AI Day’, employees can find out about current AI use cases and projects and get tips on how to integrate artificial intelligence into their day-to-day work.
SEPTEMBER
KUKA is establishing a new division: KUKA Digital is expanding our company's software and digital business. The goal: the seamless digitalisation of a wide range of machines and systems in production, from the first 3D simulation to networking and data analysis to the use of artificial intelligence.
OCTOBER
A shortage of living space, rising prices and a lack of skilled workers are among the major social challenges. Automated modular house building offers a solution here. Klara Geywitz, Federal Minister of Building, is personally informing herself about the innovative new concept.
Swisslog is opening a new office in Canada. The goal: to take advantage of growth opportunities in the region.
NOVEMBER
KUKA's digital offensive kicks off: Following the establishment of the new digital division, KUKA showcased its comprehensive portfolio and seamless digitalisation of global industrial landscapes at its first software and digital event under the motto ‘KUKA digital_powering your business’. The highlight of the event: mosaixx, the open, collaborative cloud platform for industrial software-as-a-service.
Germany's best mechatronics apprentice comes from KUKA: Eric Moehrke has come out on top against around 7,000 apprentices in his final exam and graduated as the best in his field in the country.
DECEMBER
Nowaste Logistics chooses Swisslog as partner for new logistics centre in Sweden: The innovative and fast-growing 3PL company Nowaste Logistics, a subsidiary of Everfresh, has chosen Swisslog as its partner for its new automated logistics centre in Helsingborg.
The Belgian musician Stromae rose to fame with global hits like ‘Alors on danse’. His live shows are considered spectacular. On his Multitude Tour 2022/23, he was accompanied by ten KUKA robots that provided a stunning stage set. Now, the concert spectacular can be seen for the first time as a concert film on YouTube.
